For Starters..

So I have finally gotten myself to get serious about losing weight.  Not just losing weight, but getting fit.  I want to be one of those people who are addicted to going to the gym.  Dont get me wrong, I dont want to be one of those girls who look like they take steriods have muscles bulging out everywhere, but I want to be toned.
My whole life, as long as I can remember anyways, I have had weight issues.  I was always smaller as a child, but when I hit 3rd grade is when I started to get slightly chubbier.  I didnt get why I wasnt tiny, I was in gymnastics and was one of the most active kids I knew.  I didnt eat any worse than any other kid was eating, either.  Being insecure is something I learned at a very young age.  I was probably 8 when my mom and grandma started telling me to go on a diet.  My cousin and I were both the same size, so our parents and grandma would have us on and off diet "competitions."  I understand they were probably worried about our health, but I dont think they understood just how much affect they had on the BOTH of our lives.
I have been on and off diets since I was 8-9 years old, and so has my cousin.  When I got to high school, I was still chubby, and people were mean.  There was one guy, James Marvin, who called me fat pretty much every single day.  I never will understand why he did that to me.  I was never anything but nice to him, and I wasnt huge!  There were people much bigger than me who he left alone.  Its something I'll never understand, so I know I need to let it go.  What he didnt realize, is that I was battling anorexia and bulemia that year.  I was probably the skinniest I've ever been, because I wasnt eating, and he still would call me fat.  Luckily for me, I gave up the anorexia kick and went on an Atkins kick.  That lasted probably the rest of high school, not very successfully I might add.
I started this blog because I think it will help me to keep on track on my diet and I can put my results out on paper to keep me motivated.
Last month, I read about this new awesome diet on pinterest, of course.  It is called the Dukan diet, and apparently celebreties were doing it, royalty was doing it, and everyone else was doing it with amazing results.  So naturally, I was intrigued.  Two days later, I was stocked up on lean protein and fat free dairy, the key ingredients to this diet.  I was super motivated for the first 3 weeks and was down 17 lbs!  But then some unmentionable life-events happened and I fell off the wagon. :(  I stayed off of the diet for almost a whole month before I got my shit back together and decided to get back on the diet- for good this time.
Three days ago, I stepped back on the scale to see I had only gained back 2 of the pounds I lost over the month- and I was eating horribly, FYI.  So that made me a little bit happier, I would not have to start over completely.  Yesterday I weighed myself, and I had already dropped the 2 pounds I gained back.  So today, I am back to 17 pounds lighter than I was before I started the diet, and I am ready to get myself fit!! Dukan says my true weight is 165, but as most, I want to be lighter than that.  I will cross that bridge when I get to it, but for now, my goal is around 145.  Starting at 221 about a month and a half ago, I am now down to 204.
